Terms of Use: Satsang: Awareness & Wisdom

These Terms are an agreement between you and [OPERATOR_LEGAL_NAME], [OPERATOR_ADDRESS] ("we", "us"), for your use of Satsang at https://satsang-app.pages.dev and any related app (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. What Satsang is, and what it isn't

  • Satsang is a free reflection and meditation companion. Its chat replies are generated by artificial intelligence (via our provider, OpenAI), inspired by themes found in meditative and mystic teachings.
  • It is not Osho, and not any real teacher, guru or spiritual authority. It doesn't speak for any person, living or dead. Replies are AI interpretations. They are not quotations unless clearly marked as such, and they may be inaccurate, incomplete or inappropriate.
  • Not affiliated: Satsang is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Osho International Foundation, any Osho meditation centre, or any other spiritual organisation. Any names are used only descriptively. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
  • Not advice: Nothing in the Service is medical, psychological, psychiatric, legal, financial or other professional advice, and it is no substitute for a qualified professional. Don't rely on it for decisions about your health or safety. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact emergency services (India: 112) or a helpline immediately (India: Tele-MANAS 14416, free, 24x7). Outside India, use your local emergency number.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 18 years old and able to agree to these Terms. The Service is not directed at children.

3. Your use of the Service

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for anything illegal, harmful, harassing, hateful, or sexually explicit, or to seek instructions for self-harm, violence or crime;
  • try to extract, reverse-engineer or overload the Service, bypass rate limits or bot protection, scrape it, or use it through automated means (bots, scripts) or as a free API;
  • use AI output to impersonate a real person, or present it as the actual words of Osho or any other person;
  • submit other people's personal data or confidential information;
  • break the AI provider's usage policies (see https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy and the provider's usage terms). We may limit, suspend or block access (for example by IP) to protect the Service or other users.

4. Your content and AI output

  • You keep any rights you have in what you type. You give us, and our AI provider, permission to process it only to operate the Service (to generate your reply, keep the Service secure, and prevent abuse), as described in the Privacy Policy.
  • AI output may resemble output given to others. You may use replies for personal, non-commercial reflection. Check anything important independently.
  • Your chats and saved items are stored in your browser. We can't recover them if you delete them or your browser clears them.

5. Intellectual property

  • The Service's software, design, name and logo, and original content we wrote (such as daily reflections and meditation prompts) belong to [OPERATOR_LEGAL_NAME] or its licensors. You may share individual reflections for personal, non-commercial use with credit to Satsang.
  • We claim no rights over the works of Osho or any other author. The Service doesn't reproduce those works. Rights in them belong to their respective owners.
  • Rights-holder concerns: If you believe something in the Service infringes your rights, email satsang.app@gmail.com with the details and we'll review it promptly.

6. Free service; changes

The Service is currently free. We may change, limit (for example daily message limits), pause or discontinue any part of it at any time, with or without notice. If we ever introduce paid features, we'll tell you clearly first. We may update these Terms. The effective date will change, and continued use means you accept the updated Terms.

7. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, availability and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, [OPERATOR_LEGAL_NAME] and its team won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Service or any AI output. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to INR 1,000 (the Service is free). Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

9. Indemnity

You agree to compensate us for claims and losses arising from your misuse of the Service or your breach of these Terms.

10. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at [GOVERNING_LAW_CITY], India have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live. Please contact us first at satsang.app@gmail.com. Most issues can be resolved quickly.
